Suzuki Hayate EP
Suzuki Motorcycle India has unveiled the
new Suzuki Hayate EP which is a higher variant of the currently selling Hayate.
Its price will be announced in the coming weeks and customer deliveries will
commence this financial year. The Suzuki Hayate EP features Suzuki Eco
Performance (SEP) technology which is stated to give the motorcycle higher fuel
economy whilst offering the pick-up of the current Hayate.
The all-new Suzuki Hayate EP gets a new
diamond frame, longer wheelbase, longer seat, 5-step adjustable rear shock
absorbers, tubeless tyres and a maintenance-free battery. The model will be
made available in three body colours : Pearl Mira Red, Metallic Oort Grey and
Glass Sparkle Black.
The company states that the new model is
offered with ‘innovative technologies’. It features the Suzuki Eco Performance
(SEP) technology which makes use of the Suzuki Super Sleek Piston, low friction
cylinder & piston rings and high-ignition spark plug for reduced friction,
enhanced combustion, higher compression ratio, and weight reduction.
The EP version uses the same engine as
on the standard Suzuki Hayate, but offers a higher power and torque output. The
112.8 cc single-cylinder air-cooled SOHC engine on the Hayate EP produces 8.9
PS at 7,500 rpm and 9.3 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The company states that the Hayate EP
will return a higher mileage despite offering the same pick-up that the
existing Hayate delivers.
