2016 Honda Amaze (facelift)


Honda Cars India has launched the Honda Amaze facelift at a sarting price of INR 5.29 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Airbags are available in all variants, as option in lower variants and as standard in higher trims.

The 2016 Amaze features a revised exterior, courtesy of a new chrome grille with an upright ‘Honda’ logo at the centre, revamped front bumper, and redesigned tail lamps. A new colour, Bluish Titanium Metallic has been added to the list of existing options that include Alabaster Silver Metallic, Urban Titanium Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, Carnelian Red Pearl, Orchid White Pearl, and Taffeta White.


The interior of the new Amaze hosts an all-new dashboard that resembles the one in the Honda BR-V and Indonesian-spec 2016 Honda Mobilio. The centre console is new and larger, and is complemented by piano black trims. The HVAC gets new controls and rectangular vents instead of circular. The instrument cluster is replaced with a single-pod that has a Honda Jazz-inspired fuel gauge.

The higher variants of the Amaze get a touchscreen-equipped music system and a new automatic climate control system, while the lower models receive a new 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth connectivity. The Honda Connect feature is now available on the Amaze, on the top-end version. The diesel version of the new Amaze has improved control of NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness).


The powertrain of the Amaze facelift remains the same as the previous model, except the petrol-automatic version which has gotten a new-generation Honda Earth Dreams CVT with G-Design Shift. There is no change in the engine lineup. the 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines continue to work with the same five-speed manual transmissions.
