2017 Suzuki Swift Sport
A Japanese magazine has posted a
rendering of the 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport in a bright yellow shade, which
borrows cues seen from the Swift in leaked images from last month.
To be exclusive to European and other
Asian markets, the next gen Suzuki Swift Sport will feature an upright front
end that comprises of a gaping hexagonal grille, larger intakes, smaller
headlamps with LED DRLs, and new alloy wheel designs. The rear-end gets a roof
spoiler, dual exhaust pipes, and a floating roof impression.
It’s likely to replace the 1.6-liter VVT
N/A engine for the 1.4-liter Boosterjet engine from the Suzuki Vitara S, which
produces 136 PS and 220 Nm of torque mated to a CVT gearbox. An ALLGRIP AWD
system will be available for the Suzuki Swift Sport.
As for the regular Maruti Swift, it will
feature a slightly toned down design, and could offer a 1.2L K-Series and a
1.0L Boosterjet as petrol options, while the 1.3L DDiS could be replaced with
Suzuki’s self-developed diesel engine.
