Cadillac XT5 (China Spec)
Coming a few months after Cadillac
introduced the XT5 as a successor of the SRX in the US, China's version of the
crossover is now available for order.
Launched at a local event, the
Chinese-made Cadillac XT5 is offered in six trim levels and with a choice of
front-wheel or all-wheel drive, starting from RMB 359,900 (US$ 55,670) which makes is significantly more expensive
over the US version that starts at US$ 38,995.
Visually speaking, the crossover remains
identical to its US brethren. Customers will get to choose between six exterior
colors, one less than in the States, for the 4,812 mm long, 1,903 mm wide and
1,680 mm tall vehicle that rides on a 2,857 mm wheelbase.
Inside it packs an 8-inch touchscreen,
GM's IntelliLink infotainment system, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot that, Apple CarPlay
compatibility and wireless charging, joined by a choice of four interior
colors.
The US market 3.6-liter V6, with 310 HP
and 366 Nm of torque, borrowed from the ATS and CTS sedans, is not
found in the engine lineup, which includes a 2.0-liter turbo, generating 265 HP
on the 28T, while the 25T version is offered with 247 HP; torque stands at 400
Nm in both cases. Power is sent to the wheels through a new 8-speed
automatic transmission.
