Polaris DOGOR and MRZR 4 tactical
vehicles
The Polaris DOGOR (Deployable Advance
Ground Off-Road) and MRZR 4 tactical off-road vehicles have been specially
shipped to India to be showcased at the ongoing 2016 DefExpo in Goa. Both
models are claimed to be designed for very high operational efficiency during
combat manoeuvres.
The DOGOR is a highly capable off-roader
which is developed under a contract with elements of the U.S. Special
Operations Command (SOCOM) and international Special Operations Forces (SOF).
The vehicle which looks like a bid daddy of all ATV’s (or a stripped down
version of the Hummer) can transport troops even to the remotest part of the
world.
The military off-roader uses readily
available Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) driveline, controls and components so
that service ability and operator training are kept simple. A diesel JP8 motor
propels the vehicle.
Polaris MRZR 4 is an ATV which is fully
kitted up to be used in a combat mission. The vehicle is claimed to offer
extreme off-road capability combined with impressive agility. The versatile
vehicle can carry troops as well as sizeable amount of cargo. It can also be
easily be tweaked to adopt several configurations depending on the mission requirements.
Both Polaris DOGOR and MRZR 4 are being
used by the US and its allied forces in the defence sector. Polaris hopes that
showcasing its products at the DefExpo would gain the attention of relevent
entities within India’s defence sector.
