1973 Lancia Fulvia Series 2
This Lancia Fulvia has a more
down-to-earth estimated selling price, yet it remains one of the most beautiful
sports coupes to come out of Italy.
Expected to fetch between € 9,000 and
€ 11,000 (US$ 10,000-12,000), it was produced in 1973 and it's part of the second
series Fulvia Sport, launched in 1970 at the Turin Motor Show. Changes made
included an alternator instead of the dynamo, revised suspension geometry,
5-speed gearbox, wider tires and increased ride height.
Named after Via Fulvia, a Roman road
leading from Torino to Tortona, the car that remained in production between
1963 and 1976, in three body styles, saloon, Coupe and Sport, with fastback
coupe designed and built by Zagato as an alternative, is known for its
motorsport pedigree, as it managed to win the 1972 International Rally
Championship.
This particular example is part of a
private collection and two years ago, it underwent a mechanical rebuild, during
which it received new brakes, tires and exhaust and had its body repainted;
with some work to the front seats, it would be "on the button", as
the vendor explains.
