2017 Toyota Previa
Following a leak that revealed its front
end, new images of the 2017 Toyota Previa (Toyota Estima in Japan) have
surfaced online, courtesy of a blog on Livedoor. Japanese blogs suggest that
the bookings for the family MPV in Japan will open this month.
The Previa’s rear-end
appears to be largely identical to the current model, save for new taillamp
graphics and minor revisions. It’s not as drastic as the front-end, which
receives sharp headlamps, slim LED DRLs, gaping hexagonal grille and a sporty
bumper, chrome detailing in the upper grille that connects both headlamps, and
additional chrome embellishments across the side profile. The 2017 Previa will
offer a dual tone red and black exterior color combination in its top-end
guise.
The interior has also undergone a
significant revision. While the basic design is retained, the 2017 Toyota
Previa features a redesigned multifunction steering wheel, piano black center
console that neatly houses a large touchscreen infotainment display, new silver
detailing across the dashboard and a revised instrument cluster with a
multi-info display.
Toyota will offer a
choice between Safety Sense P and C packages in Japan. The former includes
pre-collision system with pedestrian detection function and radar cruise
control, while the Safety Sense C package comes with pre-collision system, Lane
Departure Alert and Automatic High Beam as standard.
Reports suggest that the 2017 Toyota
Previa will only be sold as a hybrid model in Japan, with the powertrain having
the 2.4-litre 2AZ-FXE petrol engine capable of 150 PS and 190 Nm of
torque.
