2017 Volkswagen Crossblue
The latest prototype caught by our spies
sports an "X" on his body. But if you can not find how this brand
logo is in our latest special edition "All cars in the world", no
need to protest.
This is actually a decoy, like the grille, optical or quarter
windows. On the production model, launched in early 2017 in the US, it is the Volkswagen
VW letters that should be applied. This large SUV, which could be called
Roccan, is indeed the production version of a study presented at Detroit in
2013 under the name Crossblue, as evidenced by its passages of square wheels,
her muscular wings or its fairly sleek look .
The measurements also appear consistent
with those of the concept, approaching 5 m. It is 20 cm longer than the
Touareg, which oversees the moment the Volkswagen range. But the newcomer does
not aim to replace his older: he wants to hand more affordable, less plush
while offering the ability to carry up to seven passengers. For this, the
Crossblue resume MQB platform of the "small" Tiguan, stretched to the
extreme.
Its engines are well established across the board, like the plug-in
hybrid mechanics who will moderate the draft version. Not sure, however, that
this large SUV being imported into Europe: the Volkswagen Group is already
preparing to launch the Snowman Skoda and his future cousin Seat in this niche
of backpackers seven-seater, with more compact dimensions, better adapted to
our roads.
