Isuzu D-Max One Make Race Truck

The Isuzu D-Max One Make Race Truck has been displayed alongside the D-Max X-Series and V-Cross trucks at 2016 Bangkok Motor Show. The Isuzu One Make 2016 which kick started earlier this month at Bira International Circuit in Pattaya is the 7th edition of the championship and has 37 (highest in the history of the championship) mechanically identical trucks in contention.

Toyo Tires and 3K batteries are the official partners for the race. The trucks sport race-spec lowered suspension, high performance wheels and tyres. They are stripped down to bare essentials to save a lot of weight and of course, the cabin is equipped with roll cage. The engine and gearbox combination however is preserved in their stock condition so that audience can appreciate the potential of production spec D-Max.

This year’s Isuzu D-Max One Make Race Truck is powered by the same 1.9-litre Blue Power diesel engine which is found in the road going D-Max and MU-X. The motor has 150 PS and 350 Nm of torque on tap, which should make for quite a zippy performance when bolted on to a stripped down truck.

The Isuzu One Make Race 2016 comprises 6 rounds between March and November across three different venues. The total price money is pegged at over 660,000 bahts.
