Seat Ibiza Cupra (UK)
Seat's updated Ibiza Cupra range is now
available in British showrooms, with prices starting from £ 18,100. The new-look
flagship Ibiza is only available in SC form (Sports Coupe) and in two different
versions, the Cupra and the Cupra Black, which commands an £ 800 premium.
Performance-wise, we're looking at a 192
PS 1.8-liter TSI turbocharged petrol engine, capable of 0-100 km/h sprint times of 6.7 seconds, quicker and more powerful overall than the old
supercharged 1.4-liter car.
UK Customers can expect solid equipment
levels across the board, with the standard Cupra featuring 17" 'Barcino'
alloys, auto lights and wipers, XDS electronic differential lock, front sports
seats, electrically adjustable, heated and folding door mirrors, plus climate
control and cruise control. Outside, Seat's entry-level Cupra model comes with
bi-xenon lamps with cornering lights, as well as LED daytime running lights at
the front and LED rear lights.
The Spanish automaker is expecting the Cupra
Black to be their best selling trim version in the UK, as it costs £ 800 more
than the standard car yet offers around £ 1,000 worth of extra equipment - black
alloys with red brake calipers, 6.5" touchscreen sat-nav system with 3D
map display, voice recognition and two SD card slots.
Buyers looking for even more gear can
opt for the Seat Sound system which offers 6 speakers, a boot-mounted subwoofer
and an amplifier for £ 155. Cabin ambiance can also be improved by the Alcantara
upholstery, worth £ 400, a panoramic glass sunroof priced at £ 495, as well as
ambient interior lighting for only £ 60.
