2016 Jaguar XF-L
The Jaguar XF-L has been
unveiled at 2016 Auto China (2016 Beijing Motor Show). The Jaguar XJ‘s
long-wheelbase version is available globally but, Jaguar Land Rover says, the
Jaguar XF’s long-wheelbase version has been developed exclusively for China,
suggesting that there are no plans as of now to introduce it in other
international markets. The Jaguar XF-L will rival other stretched executive
sedans like the Audi A6L, Mercedes E-Class long-wheelbase, long-wheelbase BMW 5
Series and the Volvo S90L.
The standard wheelbase 2016
Jaguar XF that was introduced at the New York International Auto Show in April
last year is 4,954 mm long and has a 2,960 mm-long wheelbase. The length,
wheelbase and other dimensions of the Jaguar XF-L are yet to be revealed. The
stretched version will likely be offered with the same engine(s) from the
standard version.
The latter is available with
three engine choices in China: 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol unit developing 237 hp and 340 Nm of torque, 3.0-litre V6 unit developing335
hp and 450 Nm of torque and and a 3.0-litre V6 unit developing 375 hp and 450 Nm of torque.
The Jaguar XF-L will be the
first locally-built Jaguar model and the third locally-built Jaguar Land Rover model
after the Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery in China. The XF-L will
be built by the Chery Jaguar Land Rover joint venture in Changshu. The
long-wheelbase version will go on sale in H2 2016.
