2017 BMW i3
BMW has performed a series of technical
upgrades for the i3 in the 2017MY, which is currently on sale at dealers across
the States.
Ditching the previous 22 kWh battery in
favor of a 33 kWh one has raised the price of the entry-level all-electric
model to US$ 44,595. The hatch's zero-emission range has increased from 130 km to 183 km, but if you want the extra 150 km,
then you should go for the i3 REx (range extender), which will set you back for US$ 48,445.
Refilling the batteries, using a Level 2
charger, now takes approximately 4.5 hours, or 1 hour more than before. Apart
from the increased range, the 2017 BMW i3 also features more standard
equipment, which now includes 19-inch wheels, Comfort Access, Advanced Real
Time Traffic Info, Deka World Interior Design Loft, Universal Garage Door
Opener and a fast charger, available for two years.
Making your green hatch more expensive
will be the Dark Oak Wood Trim, Moonroof and Protonic Blue finish, joining the color
palette along with the Capparis White and Fluid Black non-metallic and Ionic
Silver, Platinum Silver and Mineral Gray metallic.
