Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe by Renntech
Renntech's aftermarket package for the
Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe should appeal to those who, for one reason or another,
didn’t want to go with the range-topping V12 S65 model of the series.
Starting with the standard 5.5-liter
bi-turbo V8 engine, which is anything but under-powered with 585 PS and 900 Nm of peak torque, Renntech's engineers boosted the lump by
upgrading the ECU and exhaust system.
The result is quite impressive, as the
S63 AMG Coupe is now even more powerful than the S65 AMG Coupe's 630 PS and 1,001 Nm of torque, breaking the 700 PS barrier with 708 PS and 1,138 Nm of torque, at the crank.
Performance numbers are kept in the
shadows for the moment, but while the stock S63 Coupe needs 3.9 seconds to go
from rest to 100 km/h, when equipped with the optional 4Matic AWD
system, Renntech's machine should cover it even faster.
Completing the German tuner's list of
features for the two-door version of the S-Class is a matte grey finish and a
decklid spoiler, billed by Renntech as a prototype. There isn’t any pricing
info available yet, so this won't be the last time we hear about it.
