New Mahindra Bolero (facelift)
A Mahindra Bolero has been spotted
testing with usual prototype camouflage covering certain portions of the
exterior, suggesting that a facelift is in the works.
There have been rumors of a sub-4m
Mahindra Bolero (codenamed U108) in the works, due to the extra cess on large
SUVs as well as restrictions on diesel engine displacement which has made the
regular Bolero less affordable in rural markets. It is reportedly a temporary
plan from Mahindra to keep the nameplate popular, before the next generation
Bolero arrives in 2018-19.
Exterior spyshots reveal the rear angles
of the facelifted Mahindra Bolero, which appears to feature a smaller tailgate
handle, amber-coloured tail lamps and mildly redesigned bumper. The front-end
of the Bolero has not been photographed, although we expect it to sport an
updated grille, headlamps and bumper.
It’s unclear if any changes will be made
under the hood. The current Mahindra Bolero is powered by a 2.5L mHawk m2DiCR
engine which generates 63 bhp of power and mated to a five-speed manual
transmission.
