Porsche 911 Carrera S Endurance Racing Edition

Called Endurance Racing Edition, Porsche's latest limited-edition model is based on the Carrera S. Visually, it receives a set of eye-catching decals inspired by the 919 Hybrid that has won the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the past two years. It's offered either in white or red with black stickers, or in black with gray stickers.

The cabin receives red seat belts and carbon fiber trim, but the most important changes are invisible to the naked eye. That's because the Endurance Racing Edition's list of standard features includes rear-wheel steering, the track-focused Sport Chrono package, and the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control technology that lowers the ride height.

As is typically the case, Porsche hasn't made any major mechanical modifications to the Endurance Racing Edition. Power is provided by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six engine that makes 420 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 368 pound-feet of torque from 1,700 to 5,000 rpm. Buyers can choose whether the six spins the rear wheels via a seven-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.

The Porsche 911 Carrera S Endurance Racing Edition is on sale now. Pricing in England starts at £ 107,216 (around US$ 150,000) but Porsche hasn't revealed whether the model will be offered in the United States.
