SXT Raptor 1200


The French SXT Scooters sells electric scooters for 3 years, some being registered as mopeds. To everyone's surprise, it has expanded its business to electric scooter with two models 1200 Watts assimilated 50 cc. If the "Gekko" like many of its Chinese competitors, the "Raptor" deserves however we very interested it.

The electric scooter enjoying unprecedented lines in the purest trend "Naked." His partially apparent matte black chassis is streamlined so razor blade, with incisive and modern plastics. From the front, the SXT Raptor even remember some Naked large displacement as the KTM Duke 125. 3 bicolour (yellow, red or green) provide the finishing touch to his aesthetic universe.


The formula is rather more classic operator side with the adoption of a Hub-1200W brushless motor powered by a battery Lead / Gel 60V 20Ah. A couple that ensures comfortable start but displays the same drawbacks as its competitor Ride E1. Namely a time of high load (up to 8 hours) and numerous constraints to slow aging.

To achieve the potential 300 to 500 charge cycles the battery, SXT and recommends a set load when the level is between 25 and 40%. And also states that "the maintenance and use of the battery can greatly vary its life." Once loaded on a standard 220-230V AC outlet, the scooter has a maximum autonomy of 60 kilometers.


Accreditation is provided by a lockable under seat (no real trunk), an integrated alarm with remote (and immobilizer function) and a flat floor, aluminum protections. With its hydraulic shock absorbers and front disc brake, the Raptor 1200 can carry up to 150 kilos, which allows to consider the duo trips. It is CE approved for 2 places.


The scooter will be launched in mid-May 2015 among SXT dealers. He will appear at € 1,698, the same price as the classic Gekko 1200. Thanks to some local initiatives, it may be the subject of subsidies for the purchase, while the gray card is always free. Operating and maintenance costs will then be very small: we speak of € 0.90 per 100 km.
