2017 Hyundai Verna
Seen here are the first images of the
next-generation 2017 Hyundai Verna in production form in China ahead of an
unveiling expected to take place anytime now. The production version of the
2017 Verna follows the concept which was showcased at this year’s Beijing Auto
Show.
The concept shown was in near-production
form and these images show exactly what has changed. Parts like the light
clusters, grille, bumpers and wheels have been scaled down in terms of design
to fit production lines. Aside from these small changes, the 2017 Hyundai Verna
does justice to its concept from around 2 months ago.
The spyshots show two variants of the
2017 Hyundai Verna: The entry level variant sports halogen headlights and small
steel wheels whereas the higher variant comes with LED daytime running lights,
projector headlights, foglights, larger alloy wheels, a sunroof, chrome door
handles with keyless entry button and tinted windows.
According to the report, the 2017
Hyundai Verna measures 4,380 mm in length, 1,728 mm in width, 1,460 mm in
height and 2,600 mm in wheelbase. As reported earlier, the wheelbase of the new
Verna has been extended by 30 mm over its predecessor to facilitate better
interior space. The Honda City, the Verna’s key rival, also has a 2,600 mm
wheelbase.
For the Chinese market, the 2017 Hyundai
Verna is reported to get 1.4- and 1.6-liter petrol engines developing 100 hp
and 123 hp respectively. When launched in India next year, the 2017 Verna will
also offer the popular diesel engine choices (1.4- and 1.6-liter CRDi units)
paired to 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions.
