2018 All-New Bentley Continental GTC
These are the first images of Bentley's
brand new convertible Continental GTC, and just like with the Coupe, there's
not much they're willing to let us know judging by all that heavy camouflage.
Aside from the obvious, which is the
presence of a soft-top, we also know its grille is positioned lower and is
wider than before, while the fenders appear to be more muscular through that
cladding, with these design details pointing to the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept from
last year's Geneva motor show.
On a more technical note, both the GT
and the GTC will be utilizing the multi-material MSB platform, used across the
VW Group and most recently on the new Panamera.
Expect over 600 PS from the
range-topping W12 engines, while "entry-level" versions will continue
to be powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 - though at this point we don't know
if the V8 will spawn two separate power levels, like it's currently the case
with the GT V8 and GT V8 S.
In total, the current Continental GTC is
available in four different versions, the fastest and most expensive being the
W12 Speed model with its 635 PS and 820 Nm of torque. Hopefully,
Bentley keeps their ultra-fast model lineup going in future-generation Continentals
as well, though we're equally intrigued about another, more eco-friendly
possibility.
