Cadillac XT5 and CT6 (Europe)
Cadillac is celebrating the launch of
their XT5 crossover and CT6 executive saloon in Europe, marking the brand’s
expansion in the Old Continent.
Being its halo model, the new CT6 is
aiming to lure customers away from the Mercedes S-Class, the BMW 7-Series and
the Audi A8.
Cadillac will offer only one engine
option to the customers, a twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 petrol producing 411 hp and 555 Nm of torque. Powered is channeled to the rear via an
eight-speed automatic transmission.
Performance-wise, the big Caddy deals
with the 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds while top speed is rated at 240 km/h.
The new Cadillac CT6 returns a combined 29.4 mpg UK (9.6 lt/100km) with CO2
emissions rated at 218 g/km.
Pricing for the new Cadillac CT6 is
starting at 73,500 euros (US$ 82,000 in current exchange rates) in Germany
in the entry-level Luxury trim with the range-topping Platinum asking from
94,500 euros (US$ 105,400).
Similarly the new Cadillac XT5 is going
to be offered with just one powertrain, a 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine with 309 hp and 368 Nm of torque mated to an eight-speed automatic
transmission.
The 0-100 km/h sprint takes
7.5 seconds and the top speed is set at 210 km/h. The new XT5 returns a
combined 28.2 mpg UK (10.0 lt/100km) and 229 gr/km of CO2 emissions.
Cadillac’s X5 rival is priced from
48,800 euros in Germany (US$ 54,400 in current exchange rates) while both models
are expected to arrive in European dealerships in early September.
