Fiat 500 Riva Edition
Picture yourself driving down to the
yacht club somewhere on the Mediterranean coast. You have a Riva motor yacht
tied up at the dock, ready to hit the open water. You're all decked out in Paul
& Shark with a Rolex Yachtmaster on your wrist, or maybe a Corum Admiral's
Cup. What are you driving?
If you want to go small, it could very
well be the car you see here. It's a Fiat 500, of course, but not just any 500:
this is the new Riva edition, and it's designed to put the seafaring spirit of
the Aquariva Super yacht on the road.
Setting the Riva edition apart from
ordinary Cinquecentos are numerous nautical touches. It's painted a unique
shade of Sera blue, taken from the Riva catalog and offset by aquamarine coach
lines, chrome trim and blue-accented, 20-spoke, 16-inch alloys.
The treatment carries over inside as
well, where you'll find mahogany wood trim on the door sills, shift knob, and
dashboard, where it's also inlaid with maple. The seats are upholstered in
ivory Poltrona Frau leather with tone-on-tone ivory stitching and blue piping.
Buyers can spec a high-end Beats Audio
system and choose from an array of engine options. The Fiat 500 Riva will be
available in either hatchback or convertible bodystyles, the former with a panoramic
glass roof and the latter with a blue folding soft top.
Arguably the most convincing yet, the
Riva is just the latest in a series of unique takes on the Italy's retro city
car. Previous examples saw Fiat partner with fashion brands like Diesel and Gucci
and even with its own sister brands Ferrari and Maserati.
