Mahindra Thar “DayBreak Edition”
“DayBreak” edition is the name given by
Mahindra’s customization studio to the mighty version of the Thar that is
currently being showcased in the Auto Expo 2016. It’s not just an ordinary
customization but a pack full of mind-boggling equipment.
Finished in matte
grey paint, the Mahindra Thar DayBreak Edition comes with seriously over-sized
tyres, a snorkel, raised suspension, front winch, steel bumpers and completely
redesigned bodywork and interior. ORVMs have been mounted up at top of A-pillar
while rear cabin has transverse seat. It’s an open-top vehicle.
At the rear, the Thar DayBreak Edition
gets a new pair of LED taillights with spare wheel neatly tucked on to the rear
hatch and dual exhausts.
Step inside and the Thar DayBreak
edition welcomes you with a modern dashboard layout. Mahindra has installed a
touchscreen infotainment system as well on this model. Adding more to its
offbeat styling are bright orange accents around air vents, a sporty
three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel and front racing seats.
Under the hood, this heavily modified
Mahindra Thar gets the regular 2498 cc 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine.
It churns out 105 bhp and 247 Nm of torque, and comes mated to a 5-speed manual
transmission along with a limited slip differential.
