Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG by Performmaster
With 381 horsepower on tap from its
compact 2.0-liter engine, the Mercedes-AMG A45 is one of the hottest hatches
out there. Improving on such a high-strung engine is no easy task, but Foliatec
and Performmaster seem to be up to it.
Performmaster has come out with a new
power module that boosts output to 410 horsepower. Coming from a 2.0-liter
four-cylinder engine, that gives the tuned Benz a specific output of 205 hp per
liter. At that rate, the 6.3-liter V12 in the Ferrari F12, for example, would
make 1,291 horses!
Once Performmaster was done with it,
Foliatec held an online conducted an online poll between a matte silver effect
and a color-changing green and purple respray, and the subtler of the two won
out. The change was affected using Foliatec's new Carbody Spray Film, offset by
red mirrors and wheels.
The appearance may appeal more to some
than others, but the sum total makes us want to put an A45 in our driveway even
more than we did before.
