Tesla Model 3 Coupe
Tesla's first foray into the
premium compact segment has created a true frenzy that transcends the
automotive world.
The Model 3 had people
forming queues outside the stores stretching up to three blocks, something
previously seen only in other products like smartphones from a certain
Cupertino-based company. It's amazing that almost
280,000 people paid up a thousand bucks for something that's still in
development and won't arrive at their driveways earlier than late 2017 at best.
Those who are still deciding
whether to place a deposit any time soon shouldn't expect to touch their new
Tesla earlier than 2018, but with the firm's record of delaying new product and
the huge popularity of the car can push that date even further beyond, which
can only please GM, as their competitor, the Bolt, with a similar price and
range, will hit the market sooner.
Like the Model S, the third
member of the Tesla Motors family will be offered as a saloon, but if they
decide to go for something sportier and drop the rear doors, then we would be
looking at a version similar to what X-Tomi did in this rendering. Which is
probably the first of many, as a. more designers are going to try their hands
at the popular EV, and b. the saloon's styling has not been finalized yet,
which gives them an even bigger playing field.
