2017 Audi A4 Allroad
The 2017 Audi A4 Allroad will reach
US shores this fall with a single powertrain option. Unlike their EU spec
models, Audi is offering the new A4 Allroad only with a turbocharged 252 Hp
2.0-litre TFSI engine, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox in
the US.
Audi will not bring the regular A4
Avant stateside, the new Allroad will be the only wagon of choice. Its standard
Quattro all-wheel drive system is new and allows for proactive control of its
torque distribution, improving not only grip but fuel efficiency as well.
Ground clearance is 34 mm higher
than that of the regular A4 saloon, while there is also a new off-road driving
mode added to the ‘Audi Drive Select’ system (comfort, auto, dynamic,
individual, and offroad).
Being an Allroad also means that the
body now wears some extra cladding, along with aluminum roof rails and
underbody guard to show off the car's "off-road character". A set of
18in alloy wheels is offered as standard.
The redesigned five-link suspension
comes with adaptive dampers as standard in order for the new A4 Allroad to
offer the best possible comfort both on and off road. Its pretty much looking at a normal A4, meaning all the bells and whistles we know
from the regular model like the Audi Virtual Cockpit, the cutting-edge
connected infotainment system and a long list of driver assistance systems, are
all there.
Prices start at US$ 44,950 for the Premium
model with the range-topping Prestige costing US$ 52,350.
