2017 Chevrolet Trax (USA)
Chevrolet has extensively updated its
little Trax crossover for 2017 with a whole slate of enhancements. And now it
has announced just how little you'll have to pay to put yourself (or your
daughter) behind the wheel.
Why your daughter, you ask? Because at
nearly 60 percent, the Trax has the largest proportion of female owners of any
model that Chevy makes. And starting at US$ 21,896 (including destination), it's
ideally positioned for young drivers.
That's the price for the base LS model
in front-drive spec. The Trax is also offered in LT and Premier trims (the
latter replacing the previous LTZ) for US$ 23,795 and US$ 26,995, respectively.
Of course upgrading to all-wheel drive
adds more to the bottom line as well. The 2017 Chevy Trax LS AWD starts at US$ 23,395, the LT at US$ 25,295, and the Premier at US$ 28,495.
The adjusted pricing represents only a
slight price bump over the outgoing model, whose starting MSRP came in US$ 700
lower at US$ 21,195 (delivered). That makes the Trax one of the most affordable
new crossovers on the market, though not strictly speaking the cheapest.
Several Jeeps undercut its price, together with some Japanese rivals like the
Honda HR-V, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport and Mazda CX-3. Deliveries begin in the
fall.
