2017 Ford F-Series Super Duty
Ford has just added a new fuel
tank to the 2017 Ford F-Series Super Duty, giving it the largest fuel capacity of any vehicle in the
segment.
The new 48-gallon tank is 22 per cent
larger than the 37.5 gallon tank that comes standard in the car and due to the
new model's extended wheelbase, fits snugly between the frame and driveshaft.
Ford says that the new fuel tank will
particularly help those that use the F-Series Super Duty for work purposes,
giving them longer gaps between fill-ups thanks to the improved range. Compared
to 2016 models, the aluminum construction of the 2017 car aids further in
better fuel economy.
There are two
options for the new car. The standard petrol 6.2-liter V8 has 385 hp and 430
lb-ft of torque on tap while the 6.7-liter diesel V8 delivers 440 hp and an
incredible 925 lb-ft, enough torque to split the world in two.
This means that the F-450 SuperCrew 4x4
with a gooseneck hitch can tow up to 32,500 pounds. Insane.
