Bajaj Avenger 220 Desert Gold Cruise
Launched in October 2015, the new Bajaj
Avenger is now the best selling motorcycle in its segment, registering monthly
sales of 25,000 units. A total of three variants were launched, Bajaj Avenger
220 Cruise, Bajaj Avenger 220 Street, and Bajaj Avenger 150 Street.
Each available in an exclusive colour
option. Cruise 220 is offered in Divine Black colour scheme, Street 220 is
offered with Matt Black, while Street 150 is offered with Midnight Blue. With
sales picking up, Bajaj has now announced the launch of yet another colour
scheme. But it is on offer only with the Cruise 220.
Called Desert Gold, this new colour
scheme has been inspired by the golden sand dunes of Rajasthan. In Bajaj’s own
words, “The glow of golden dunes, hues of the setting sun, horizons painted in
gold and the never-ending vastness of heavens. Inspired by the golden mosaic of
desert, Presenting the Avenger Cruise 220, Now in Desert Gold. Feel Like God.”
Apart from the golden colour scheme on
the metal body, it also gets a golden brown colour seat and pillion back rest.
The new Bajaj Avenger flagship continues with chrome bits on the body, exhaust,
spoke wheels, relaxed riding posture, optional windshield, etc.
Power comes from a 220 cc single cylinder
oil cooled 4 stroke DTSi engine which also powers the regular Cruise 220 and
Street 220. This engine is tuned to deliver 19.03 PS peak power and 17 Nm peak
torque via a 5 speed manual gearbox.
