Honda CR-Z Mugen GT
Fitted with the same 2.8 litre V6 engine
found in the HPD LMP2 cars the new Honda GT300 challenger is set to turn heads.
Built specifically to take on the APR Toyota Prius and Subaru BRZ GT300 cars
the Mugen CRZ-GT is a full works entry into the rapidly growing second tier of
Super GT.
It has been built to the JAF GT300 rule
book which means that very little of the original car remains, and any engine
from the car makers range can be utilised. Including those which are built for
racing. Like the road going CRZ the GT300 car is a hybrid, with a 60 kg system,
with a 50 kW motor from Zytek fitted. The battery sits alongside the driver. The
engine is mid mounted and the rear wheels are driven instead of the fronts.
