Isuzu New D-Max Centurion
Special Edition
Marking a century as an
automaker, Isuzu has launched the new D-Max Centurion Special Edition, which
will be offered in just 100 examples in the United Kingdom.
Billed as "the ultimate
pickup", it went on sale from April 9, which was the 100th day of the year
for a starting price of £ 30,999 (US$ 43,770), with £ 11,000 (US$ 15,530) worth of
extras.
On the exterior, it boasts
19-inch black and silver Hurricane alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion
Zero rubber, spoiler fitments on both ends that create the impression of a more
planted stance without affecting ground clearance or ride height, stainless
steel side bars and sidesteps, black and silver roof bars, LED DRLs, Alpha
Sports tonneau cover and remote tailgate locking.
Inside, Isuzu added leather
upholstery on the seats, steering wheel and front center armrest, along with
rear door entry guards that display the Illuminated Isuzu logo and a
Centurion-branded Bed Rug dedicated to the firm's centenary.
Upgrades also include the
new Alpine entertainment system, with an 8-inch touchscreen, six speakers with
active subwoofer, a roof-mounted 10.2-inch monitor at the rear, two wireless
headphone sets and a rearview camera.
Mechanically, the special
edition pickup truck is still powered by the 2.5-liter twin-turbo diesel that's
rated at 163 PS and 400 Nm of torque. Fuel economy stands
at 38.7 mpg UK (32.2 mpg US / 7.3 lt/100 km) and, just like the rest of the
D-Max range, the Centurion boasts a towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes.
