Kawasaki W800 (Indonesia)


The Kawasaki W800 retro classic motorcycle which is a bigger version of the Estrella 250 has been launched in Indonesia at IDR 249 million for the standard model and IDR 251 million for the special edition variant.

The W800 looks to compete with the new Triumph Bonneville and just like its rival, it has an attractive old school styling which is enhanced by good attention to detail. The Special Edition is being showcased at 2016 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS).


The standard variant adopts an Ocean Blue paint job while the limited edition sports Ebony (black and white) color theme. Only 50 units of the Kawasaki W800 are alotted for Indonesia and interestingly, 40 of them will be the Special Edition variant. Kawasaki officals said that in their experience, Special Editions have more demand and hence more units.

The retro classic motorcycle features circular headlight, a slender fuel tank with knee padding, long seat, chrome mud guards, black finished silencer and spoke wheels with black rims. The motorcycle is equipped with telescopic front fork and twin coil spring rear shock absorbers. Front wheel is retarded by a disc while the rear makes do with drum brake.


The W800 is powered by a vertical twin cylinder engine which displaces 773 cc. The power ouput of 48 PS is in compliance with the European A2 license norms. The motorcycle will be imported into Indonesia as a CBU.
