Kia Motors Indonesia has launched two new models at GIIAS
2016, the new Sportage and the Grand Sedona.
The third-gen Sedona/Carnival, first
seen in April 2014, is powered by a 3.3 litre V6 engine with 270 PS and 318 Nm
of torque. The MPI unit is mated to a to a six-speed torque converter automatic
transmission. Elsewhere, the big MPV (5,115 mm long, nearly 2 meters wide) can also
be had with a 202 PS/441 Nm 2.2 litre R CRDi turbodiesel or a 280 PS/336 Nm 3.3
litre naturally-aspirated GDI direct injection V6 unit.
Three trim levels of the handsome
eight-seat people carrier are available in the republic, and they are the
Standard, Platinum and Ultimate, imported from South Korea and priced from IDR 426 million to IDR 482 million, without on the road
costs.
This sole show unit at GIIAS doesn’t
look particularly high-spec as it wears “just” 18-inch wheels that look small
under that hulk of a body. Standard kit on this Ultimate-spec car include six
airbags, dual powered sliding doors, powered tailgate, two sunroofs, smart key,
cruise control, auto headlamps and LED DRLs.
