Lotus Evora 400 New
Carbon Pack & Titanium Exhaust Options
Lotus announced the option of new
lightweight options for the Evora 400, to make it more fun to drive and lighter. The new Carbon Pack option will be available in all markets and
features a number of components already fitted to the more hardcore Evora Sport
410 as standard.
This includes things like a front
splitter section, roof panel, rear wing centre, rear diffuser finisher, front
access panel and wing mirror caps, all of them made out of carbon-fiber by
hand. All of them together help in cutting mass by 5 kg.
The options list also gain a new
lightweight titanium sports exhaust option and a lithium-ion battery, which
each save a further 10 kg. Furthermore Lotus now allows the deletion of
the air conditioning system and the removal of the rear seats for even more
lightness.
The company claims that when all of the
lightweight options are combined, they provide a 42 kg of total weight
saving, dropping the Evora 400’s figure from 1,395 kg to 1,353 kg. US and Canada models tip the scales at 1,430 kg before
any lightweight options.
Lotus has also introduced a cupholder
and oddment tray to all Evora models in a bid to make everyday life easier for
its owners. The new feature is standard to US and Canada models, with European
and Asian ones getting it as an option. The company’s focus on lightweight
solutions means that they actually measured the weight of the new cupholder
which tips the scales at just 120 grams.
Pricing for the new optional Carbon Pack
is set at £ 6,500 in the UK, € 9,000 in Germany and US$ 10,000 in the US. The
titanium exhaust option is priced at £ 5,500 in the UK, € 7,000 in Germany and US$ 8,000 in the US. Finally the lithium-ion battery asks for £ 1,350 in the UK,
€ 1,890 in Germany and US$ 1,690 in the US. The deletion of the air-condition and
of the rear seats is a no-cost option.
