Techrules GT96
Techrules has hired legendary Italian designers Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro
as it gears up to launch the GT96 supercar.
The car was previewed at March's Geneva
Motor Show in concept guise and apparently, will be released as a finished,
production-spec model at Geneva next year.
When unveiled, the Techrules GT96 drew
headlines thanks to its use of six electric motors, one driving each front
wheel and two for each rear wheel. That results in a total of 1,030 hp and
6,372 lb-ft of torque, a 0-96 km/h time of 2.5 seconds and a
remarkable 1,243 mile range.
To make the car a reality, Techrules
hasn't just employed the help of Giorgetto Giuigaro and his son but also L.M.
Gianetti, an engineering and production specialist. The company is capable of
producing 25 cars per year and will allow Techrules to avoid having to build
its own production facility.
The role of the two Giuigaros in the
project isn't known but it seems likely they'll help refine the vehicle's
design before it hits the streets.
