Toyota Calya
Toyota revealed the Toyota Calya
mini-MPV for Indonesia yesterday, but it’s yet to be launched in the market.
Ahead of its public debut at the 2016 Gaikindo Indonesian International Auto
Show (GIIAS).
The Toyota Calya, being an entry-level
MPV, will be positioned below the Toyota Avanza. The 7-seat mini-MPV measures
4,070 mm in length, 1,655 mm in width and 1,600 mm in height, and has a
wheelbase of 2,525 mm and a ground clearance of 180 mm. It’s a LCGC (Low Cost
Green Car) category vehicle in Indonesia, where it will be available in trim
levels E and G.
Power windows in all doors, roof-mounted
second-row HVAC vents, one-touch tumble second-row 60:40 split-folding seats,
dual-front airbags, 2-speaker double-DIN multimedia system with CD, USB and AUX
input and parking (reverse) sensors are standard in both trim levels. The G
trim level also features foglamps, electrically-folding door mirrors with
integrated turn indicators, silver trim on the door and dashboard and chrome
accents on the HVAC vents and gear knob, as well as four speakers and Bluetooth
connectivity.
The Toyota Calya will be available only
with the 3NR-VE 1.2-litre Dual VVT-i four-cylinder petrol engine tuned to
produce 88 PS (86.76 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 108 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. There
will be an option in case of the transmission though: 5-speed manual and
4-speed automatic. ABS will be a standard fitment in all other configurations
except the Calya E 5MT.
