2017 Audi RS5 (Spyshot)
The 2017 Audi RS5 Coupe has been spied
completely undisguised somewhere in Europe, courtesy by decoches.blogspot. A
leaked document of Audi’s future launches in North America revealed in February
that the next-gen RS5 will be launched in North America in 2018, indicating
that it will arrive in Europe in late-2017.
The test mule seen in the spyshots is
wearing the 2016 Audi S5 Coupe’s body, but the larger front air intakes, larger
wheels on a wider track and wheel arch extensions are clear indicators of the
fact that the next-gen Audi RS5 Coupe is the actual car hiding under the shell.
The
Audi RS5 Coupe will reportedly dump its naturally aspirated V8 engine for a
twin-turbocharged V6 engine. The new engine will be more powerful than the 444 hp 4.2-litre FSI engine that powered the outgoing model, with the
maximum output figure expected around 500 hp. The quattro permanent all-wheel
drive system should be standard.
Thanks to the MLB-Evo platform, the
all-new model would be at least 50 kg lighter compared to the outgoing model.
More power and lesser weight, along with improved aerodynamics, should help the
2017 Audi RS5 Coupe hit 0 to 100 km/h in around four seconds.
