2017 Ford Fiesta ST
Ford announced the Fiesta ST that available to order in Europe with a five-door bodystyle, next to the
regular three-door model.
The two extra doors give Fiesta ST a few
more practicality points, thanks to the easier access to the back seats while
retaining the performance and its class-leading handling characteristics,
making a better candidate for keen drivers with small children in the family.
Powered by a turbocharged 1.6-litre EcoBoost petrol
engine, the Fiesta ST offers 179 hp and 240 Nm of peak
torque. This allows for the small performance Ford model to accelerate from 0
to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds while returning an average of 46.3 mpg UK (6.1 lt/100km)
of fuel consumption. CO2 emissions are rated at 141 g/km.
The chassis features all the performance
enhancements known from the three-door model, including an optimized
suspension, steering and brakes and there is also a Torque Vectoring Control
system, which uses the brakes on the inside front wheel during cornering to
improve grip and reduce understeer.
Pricing for the new five-door version of the Ford
Fiesta ST starts from £ 19,495 in the UK. Ford estimates that around 25 per cent
of Fiesta ST sales in Europe will account for the five-door body.
