2019 VW Golf MK VIII (render)
VW Golf is set to reach its eighth generation before the turn of the decade. Coming to replace the popular Mk7 that
wears the MQB platform, along with other models produced under the Volkswagen
umbrella, the forthcoming compact car is still being shaped by the company's
designers, but RemcoM could be on to something here.
It uses the latest Volkswagen models as
inspiration, including the new Tiguan, Europe's Passat and the next-generation
Touareg, which is tipped to show its face sometime next year. It adds
different-styled headlights, chromed grille and a more aggressive bumper to the
hatch's front end.
The actual production Golf is expected
to ride on a slightly longer wheelbase, lose some weight and add a long list of
equipment inside, possibly along with autonomous driving technology. The new
Volkswagen Golf Mk8 is rumored to be ready by the time the current model turns
seven, meaning 2019.
