Honda WR-V (render)
Car.Blog.br has come out with a few digital sketches
of the forthcoming Honda Jazz-based crossover, which is widely reported to be
named the Honda WR-V. Codenamed ‘Honda 2FM’, the rival to the Hyundai i20
Active (Hyundai HB20X) is expected to be revealed in November at the Sao Paulo
Auto Show.
Unlike the previous generation Honda Fit Twist, which had merely subtly body
claddings and roof rails, the Honda WR-V will feature sheet metal changes, and
new front and rear fascias. The bumpers will also be redesigned with plastic
cladding and a skid plate, though the doors and windows are expected to remain
untouched.
Interior wise, the Honda WR-V is expected to share its
interior with the Honda Jazz. Thus, the familiar three-spoke steering wheel,
the 3-pod instrument cluster with digital MID, the touchscreen control for the
automatic AC and the integrated music system/touchscreen AVN system will
continue. Honda could focus on introducing a new fabric upholstery, and minor
changes to the trims on the dashboard and doors.
The Honda WR-V will launch in
India in the first half of 2017, with the powertrain being carried over from
the Jazz. The engine lineup includes the 1.2-liter i-VTEC petrol and the
1.5-liter i-DTEC diesel. The former is likely to be paired to a 5-speed manual
or CVT whereas the latter will use only a 6-speed manual gearbox.
