New Volvo S90L (China)

The long-wheelbase variant of the new Volvo S90 is expected to debut at China's Guangzhou Auto Show in early December before finally making its way to the US & Europe sometime next year.

Its said to feature 12 extra centimeters, offering passengers more legroom in the back.

In China, the S90L will face stiff competition in what is now Volvo's biggest market, from the likes of the Audi A6, BMW 5-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Jaguar XF, all available in long-wheelbase variants.

According to Carnewschina, the exact dimensions of the S90L are 5,083 mm/1,879 mm/1,450 mm, with the stretched wheelbase measuring 3,061 mm. In comparison, the regular S90 measures 4,963 mm/1,879 mm/1,443 mm and has a wheelbase of 2,941 mm.

We'll likely see the a 2.0-liter turbo unit in two different versions, a T4 and a T5, unlike the regular-wheelbase S90 that's offered in China exclusively as a 320 hp T6 hybrid.

As for the visual difference between the T4 and the T5, the latter seems to have larger and more extravagant alloys, and a more elegant dual-exhaust setup.
