2017 Acura NSX GT3 and MDX
Acura have chosen the 2016 SEMA Show to display their NSX GT3, which will celebrate its North American racing debut
next year.
Featuring a custom body work and aerodynamic
components such as the larger hood vents for better engine cooling, underbody
diffuser and massive rear wing, the racing NSX, which uses the same
architecture as the street-legal variant, is adding to the brand's competition
legacy.
The Japanese company has chosen a different approach
when it comes to showcasing the NSX GT3 at SEMA, at the
Las Vegas Convention Center, as rather than touching the red carpet, the
vehicle sits on a custom trailer. Created in collaboration between Acura Design
and the Jimmy Shine Workshop, it features a perimeter chassis inspired by the
racer's roll cage, and two hydraulic pumps that lift and lower the bed.
The trailer is powder coated in
Pearl White and sits on 20-inch wheels, identical to the ones used on the car
responsible for towing: a 2017 MDX. The SUV benefits from a special wrap as
well, tinted windows, black-out suspension components, orange brake calipers
and a few extra touches that will be highlighted during the Specialty Equipment
Market Association (SEMA) event.
