2017 Nissan Note e-Power
Nissan recently held an off-the-line ceremony for
the 2017 Note, where production of the updated model has officially begun at
the company’s Oppama plant in Japan, ahead of its market introduction soon.
The
visual changes include a prominent V-motion grille at the front, which links
the new headlamps. Just below it, the lower grille design now features a
central chrome element between the redesigned fog lamps.
The side mirrors also features small
protrusions underneath, which indicates that there will be some sort of blind
spot monitoring system onboard (depending on variant). No view of the car’s
rear, but it looks like the wraparound taillight design will continue to
feature here, albeit with new graphics.
The new Note will be
available as a range extender hybrid as well, wearing the e-Power name. Leaked
images of the car’s brochure show that two variants – e-Power Medalist and
e-Power X – will be available for the Japanese domestic market.
Based on the brochure images from Japanese-language
blog excite, the Note e-Power is powered by an EM57 electric motor
located at the front axle. The range extender element comes in the form of the
HR12DE 1.2 litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which acts as a generator to
recharge the car’s battery pack. Nissan claims the Note e-Power is capable of
achieving a fuel economy of up to 37.2 km/l.
Prices start at 1,959,120 yen for the
Note e-Power X, while the e-Power Medalist retails at 2,244,240 yen.
Non-hybrid options include the two-wheel drive X DIG-S at 1,738,800 yen, and all-wheel drive X Four at 1,711,800 yen.
