2017 Skoda Rapid (facelift)

Autocar India has managed to acquire a spyshot of the 2017 Skoda Rapid undisguised, revealing the facelifted front-end. It is reported to launch for sale in India on November 3.

Most of the changes are concentrated up front, which appears to look sharper and in-line with the European spec Fabia. It features a wider ‘butterfly’ grille directly flanked by angular headlamps with projector lighting and a new bumper design that integrates a wide intake with a new mesh design.

The interior will continue to follow a dual-tone black-and-beige color scheme. Equipment wise, the range-topping variant will feature a touchscreen entertainment system with the MirrorLink and Bluetooth support, GPS navigation and reverse camera.

The 2017 Skoda Rapid will receive the updated version of the 1.5L TDI engine from the Ameo, which produces 110 PS and 250 Nm of torque. Customers can choose between a 5-speed manual or 7-speed DSG as its transmission. A petrol variant with the 1.6L four cylinder MPI petrol engine will also be available, which is paired with a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.
