2017 Yamaha YZF-R6 (rumor)
Like every other manufacturer Yamaha is also in the
process of updating its middleweight supersport machine for the upcoming Euro
IV emission standards. However, this Japanese automaker seems to be taking this
upgrade so seriously that it is coming with an all-new YZF-R6 for the year
2017. A picture of the upcoming bike has been leaked on the internet and the
new model has been completely restyled with inspiration from its elder sibling,
the 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1.
The 2017 Yamaha YZF-R6 will be the sixth generation
of the bike after its inception in 1999 and the first major update since the
current model was launched in 2008. The fuel tank and rear of the upcoming bike
looks much similar to the new R1, while the front gets a completely new design.
The newly designed fairing gets CFD winglets protruding from the nose, LED
projector lights and air intake scoops on the front, while the vents are near
the fuel tank. Looking at the current model's output, we can expect around
130 PS from the new model.
