BMW New S 1000 RR, S 1000 R & S 1000 XR
For the 2017 model year, BMW's S 1000 RR, the S 1000
R roadster and the S 1000 XR adventure sports model have undergone several
revisions. The new S 1000 RR supersports bike has caught up with
all EU4 requirements while adding DTC as standard and ABS Pro as an optional
extra. It also features a standard passenger seat cover, with the optional
passenger package available free of charge.
A new Granite Grey metallic/Blackstorm metallic
color combo is now available, joining the likes of Racing Red
non-metallic/Lightwhite non-metallic and BMW Motorsport (Lupine Blue
metallic/Lightwhite non-metallic/Racing Red non-metallic) - with slightly new
designs.
The S 1000 R roadster on the other hand has seen its
power output increased from 160 HP to 165 HP at 11,000 rpm,
while losing around 2 kg, now reaching 205 kg unladen. Its
features include the standard HP titanium rear silencer, vibration-free
handlebars, new frame structure with lighter main frame rear section, ABS Pro,
Light HP forged wheels, Design Option Wheels and HP Shift Assistant Pro as
optional extras, and improved readability for the Multifunction instrument
cluster.
There are also new colors for the S 1000 R, such as
Racing Red non-metallic/Blackstorm metallic, Catalano Grey non-metallic and BMW
Motorsport (Lupine Blue metallic/Lightwhite non-metallic/Racing Red
non-metallic).
Lastly, the new BMW S 1000 XR features many of the
S 1000 R's characteristics such as EU4 adaptation, the same increased output
and vibration-free handlebars. BMW did increase the maximum
permissible weight from 434 kg to 444 kg, thus increasing
the payload as well by 10 kg.
There's is also a new color variant named Ocean Blue
metallic matte, joining other well-established color concepts such as Racing
Red non-metallic and Lightwhite non-metallic / Granite Grey metallic matt /
Racing Red non-metallic.
