Bobby-AMG GT
It looks like McLaren's new pint-sized electric
supercar has some competition on its hands, and it comes from the British
constructor's longtime former partners at Mercedes.
The new Bobby-AMG GT is
designed specifically for the littlest test drivers. Only instead of sitting
inside and being motivated by an electric motor, this one is made to be sat on
and propelled by tiny feet.
The fifth generation of these ride-on toys offered
by Daimler over the last 20 years, this latest iteration draws its inspiration
from the Mercedes-AMG GT. It features an adjustable steering column, a single
foam-padded seat, and wire-spoke alloys with treaded tires that are designed to
not only run quiet, but grip well even on slick interior floor surfaces.
The Bobby-AMG GT comes standard in silver with a red
seat, but there's an upgraded Bobby-AMG GT S as well that features a yellow
treatment with black seat and wheels as well as functioning LED headlights and
a flat-bottom steering wheel. A special “Tribute to Bambi” edition, benefiting
disadvantaged children, is also offered in a limited run of 1,000 examples,
decked out in black with a red seat.
They're all made for Mercedes in Bavaria by BIG
toys. Since 1972, BIG has produced over 17 million Bobby Cars in 100 different
variants, including three generations of SLK and the SLS AMG.
