Chevrolet Malibu and Cruze RS Blue Line Concept
Chevrolet is preiewing two new Blue Line concepts ahead of their Public debut
at the SEMA show. The American maker added a splash of individualization
to the Malibu and the Cruze RS hatchback models, developing various accessories
specifically for them.
The Blue Line models demonstrate the lifestyle
and personalization possibilities of the brand. Of course, enhanced aesthetics
play a key role, with both concepts featuring Genesis White exteriors,
contrasted with blue-tinted windows, and slate-blue metallic painted 18-inch
wheels.
Although the cars are geared up for SEMA, Chevrolet
tried to set them apart with very subtle add-ons. For instance, even though it
looks close to stock, the Malibu features a rear diffuser, a new spoiler,
blackened grille and bow tie emblems, floor liners with metal badging, illuminated
doorsills and a suspension lowering kit – among other mods.
The latter reduces the ride height by 10
mm for a sportier stance and more responsive handling, according to Chevrolet,
and it’s designed for models equipped with the 250 hp, 2.0-litre turbocharged
engine.
The Cruze RS Hatch, comes with a
chrome grille insert, a performance brake package, a performance air intake,
and a new exhaust system. It too is lowered by 10 mm, but it also
features a larger front stabilizer bar that makes it more responsive in the
corners.
Chevrolet doesn’t say how much power the new
performance intake squeezes out of the stock, 153 hp, 1.4L Turbo engine, but
the kit includes a high-flow air filter and a secondary inlet duct to decrease
air restriction, while the exhaust reduces back pressure for optimal breathing.
Some of the new Blue Line performance parts and
accessories will be available by the end of 2016, while others by mid-2017.
Moreover, as long as a Chevy dealer installs them, the vehicle’s warranty will
remain intact
