Suzuki GSX-R250 (spyshot)
According to a report on MotoBlast, this is the Suzuki GSX-R250, which will have its premiere at
the EICMA 2016 in Milan, Italy, on November 10.
Inspired by larger, liter-class Suzuki models, the
Suzuki GSX-R250 (Suzuki Gixxer 250) features an aggressive and butch-styled
fairing, a large, haunched fuel tank, split seats, plenty of aluminium/alloy
parts and an exposed chain. The motorcycle also sports ‘GSX’ lettering on the
fairing, indicating that Suzuki would not use the ‘Gixxer’ branding on this
product. The Gixxer is seen as an upmarket commuter motorcycle in India, and
the branding could put off buyers in the premium quarter-liter segment.
It is expected to borrow its powertrain from
the Suzuki Inazuma, which was discontinued in India in March 2015 owing to poor
sales. On the Inazuma, Suzuki employed a 248 cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder
engine capable of 24 hp at 8,500 rpm and 22 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm,
and paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
