Toyota Avanza facelift (South Africa)
The Toyota Avanza has been updated in South Africa
that will make the compact MPV a safer car right from the base configuration.
The South African-spec Toyota Avanza now comes with
Vehicle Stability Control, Brake Assist and Traction Control standard. A year
back, dual airbags (driver and front passenger), EBD, three-point centre
seatbelt, ISOFIX restraint points and centre headrests for the second seating
row were made standard with the introduction of the facelifted model. These
features, along with ABS, continue to come standard.
In the South African market, the Toyota Avanza is
available with the 1NR-VE 1.3-litre VVT-i four-cylinder engine that produces 95 hp at 6,000 rpm and 121 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm and the 2NR-VE
1.5-litre four-cylinder engine that develops 103 hp at 6,000 rpm and
136 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. Transmission choices include 5-speed manual and
4-speed automatic.
The Toyota Avanza is available in five variants: 1.3
S, 1.3 SX, 1.5 SX, 1.5 SX AT and 1.5 TX. Vehicle features include 15-inch alloy
wheels, electric power steering, electric front windows, Multi-Information
Display cluster and four-speaker audio system with integrated steering wheel
controls.
Five colour choices are available: Tusk White,
Quicksilver Metallic, Gold Leaf Metallic, Cosmic Blue and Graphite Grey
Metallic.
