2017 Aprilia Shiver 900
The Aprilia Shiver 750 has been a
favourite with local riders, due to its low cost and the glamour of an Italian
brand name. The Shiver has now been updated for 2017 with the
Aprilia Shiver 900.
Taking the V-twin from the previous generation
Shiver 750, the engine is now stroked out to 896 cc, producing a claimed 95 hp
at 8,750 rpm and 89.4 Nm torque at 6,600 rpm. While the numbers haven’t changed
much from the Shiver 750, the engine is now Euro 4 compliant.
A new fuel tank, side panels, tail unit and mudguard
is installed for 2017, along with ride-by-wire, traction control with three
settings and two-channel ABS. The TFT LCD display from the Aprilia RSV4
superbike has also transitioned over to the Shiver.
The 2017 Shiver 900 rides on new front forks, made
by Kayaba, which are adjustable for rebound and preload. The rear end of the
Shiver has a monoshock that is only adjustable for preload.
No word yet from Aprilia on what the pricing or
availability of the Shiver 900 might be, but it has been reported that the
naked sports machine will be in showrooms by April next year.
