2017 Holden Astra

The 2017 Holden Astra is officially on sale now in Australia, with prices for the car that took out last year’s European Car of the Year starting at AUD 21,990. The all-new Holden Astra has been developed by GM’s German arm, Opel, and is 160 kg lighter than its predecessor and offers a range of new powertrains.

The Astra will be offered in three variants; R, RS and RS-V. The base R model is powered by a 1.4-litre turbo ECOTEC constructed from aluminium. It produces 150 Hp and 240 Nm, offering an average fuel consumption of 5.8 L/100km. The R variant receives 17-inch alloys, a rear-view camera, LED headlamps, six airbags and cruise control as standard.

Stepping up into the RS variant adds a beefier 1.6-litre turbocharged ECOTEC engine producing 200 Hp and 300 Nm, offering an average consumption of 6.3-6.5 L/100km for manual and auto. It comes with five-spoke 17-inch alloys, leather steering wheel, advanced park assist, Holden Eye forward facing camera and automatic wipers.

The top of the line RS-V Astra adds two-toned 18-inch alloys, LED taillamps, leather heated steering wheel, remote start functionality, and satellite navigation as standard.
